Volunteer News

West-Mont is built on volunteers, without them many of the fun events and activities enjoyed by all would not be possible. Everyone knows that each West-Mont family agrees to provide at least 1,000 hours of volunteer service; just joking it is only 12 (see the Parent Handbook).

The Liz Koolman Annual Volunteer of the Year Award

 

This award is entended to honour an exceptional member of the West-Mont school community for sustained and outstanding volunteerism. It is named in honour of Liz Koolman, who was the first recipient of the award.

As part of its responsibility to promote and recognize community spirit and volunteerism, the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) inaugurated the award in 2001 and is responsible for selecting recipients. The award is presented each year, based on a fair and transparent selection process and criteria. The winner is announced at the closing ceremonies on the last day of school each year.
