Volunteers make it work...

At West-Mont School we are fortunate to have a vast resource beyond the talents of our staff: the parents and the community. This group represents a wide pool of interests and expertise. Because we are an independent school we are able to freely draw from this resource. The result is a program rich in life-experiences and full of excitement.

Volunteers play a key role at West-Mont. They help in all areas of life at our school: curriculum support, fund-raising, board policy direction (by serving on the board), and also long and short-range planning, to name a few.

As members of the West-Mont community, all parents commit to playing a volunteer role, according to their abilities and availability. Perhaps it's showing a small group of primary students how to knit, or mentoring a group of senior students on a building project.

Maybe it is once a month for an hour, or weekly for a whole day. Whatever the level of commitment, all roles are important, valued, and make up an important part of our school community. It's what makes West-Mont such a vibrant, dynamic school.
